Daily Painting #7 "Lilac Sky"

This painting is me thinking about a demo that I am doing at Melrose Arts on the evening of December 3.  I love love love paintings by Turner.  I think the tipping point for me was when I was reading an article about him and he was quoted as trying to not paint how the landscape looked, but how it felt!  It made total sense with what I wanted to convey...the feeling you get in the landscape...which for me is usually a mixture of awe, wonder and peace.
