The start of something...

Normally, I would wait to post this a bit further along or, even, finished but, I want to start posting regularly again so I figured better to post an "in progress" versus waiting for finished pieces....what do you think? Do you only want to see my work finished or along the way?

Taking lots of pics for paintings...

This day had terrific fog banks that kept drifting in and drifting out...this scene might inspire a painting this fall...

Updates from the studio

This is an oil painting on cradled gessoboard. It is 24" x 24" and is not yet titled.

I have been working on three series in my studio: ocean/sky, tulips and dots. I am enjoying getting to my studio more often these days and the freedom to work any one of these series. In February, I donated a painting to my kids' school auction - thank you to all you who bid on it! Also, in May, I will be donating a painting to the Concord Art Association's Paint the Town live auction ( www.concordart.org ). After my solo show, Gratitude, at the Left Bank Gallery in Essex, CT, they are continuing to carry my work. So now you can find my work on the coast of Massachusetts www.munsongallery.net and Connecticut www.leftbankgalleryessex.com . I am looking forward to the bursts of color that are around the corner of Spring.

In progress...

In a quest for some hot colors, I started this trio of flower paintings since the winter landscape was proving too cool for my liking right now...will post again when they are finished!

Happy New Year!

I am excited to get back to the studio tomorrow after a much needed break upon delivering my solo show to Left Bank Gallery in Essex, CT.

I have been thinking a lot about the color, white, lately and how subtle variations of the color can make a big impact. My first assignment: make a painting exploring the color white.
