One painting: Start to finish, DAY 1
Sometimes I like to post the "beginnings" of paintings...not just the final piece. For me the beginning layers of a painting are the most fun. I often don't know which direction the painting will take me. It is the excitement of the unknown. For someone who likes a plan in life, painting is one time, that I don't plan...I react, respond and play. It is so liberating to go into a painting with endless opportunity. It is the final stages of a painting where I feel more constricted to not undo what I have done and tie up the loose ends! This fall, in preparation for my solo show at the Left Bank Gallery in Essex CT in December, I started many new paintings - it was truly fun. Now I must get to the finishing of them.
